Construction of Lendlease’s TRX Lifestyle Quarter in full swing

KUALA LUMPUR: The construction of Tun Razak Exchange (TRX) Lifestyle Quarter, a mixed use development by Australian-based property and infrastructure group Lendlease, is now in full swing.

Lendlease in a statement on Thursday said after two years and over 100 leading architects, engineers and consultants from Malaysia and select international firms working closely together on the design for the development, resulting in over 5,000 project drawings, the project was now in the construction phase.

“Lendlease is working with TRX City Sdn Bhd and our local partners to ensure that the TRX Lifestyle Quarter enhances Kuala Lumpur’s role as a major business and financial hub serving all of Malaysia and South-East Asia,” it said.

It said TRX Lifestyle Quarter, covering 6.87ha, comprised a new city centre retail mall with nett lettable area of 120,773 sq metres, six residential towers, a luxury hotel and park.

It added that the development would be seamlessly connected to the largest underground Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) station in Kuala Lumpur, immediate access to Maju Expressway and the SMART tunnel, as well as direct access to the major protocol roads of Jalan Tun Razak and Jalan Sultan Ismail.

Meanwhile, on another development, Lendlease said it was now starting the construction on Phase 2 of Setia City Mall, which sits on a 5.66ha parcel of land adjacent to the existing Setia City Mall which opened in May 2012.

It said the expansion was expected to cover a wider catchment area when completed in 2019.

“Including the tertiary trading area, the expanded Setia City Mall will serve more than 1.2 million visitors in the catchment,” it said.

The extension will add over 37,161 sq metres of retail floor space, bringing the combined lettable floor area of the mall to 111,483 sq metres.

The new phase will add 200 shops to the mall, bringing together a total of over 430 shops and some 4,000 car park spaces. - Bernama
