Lelong.my targets over RM360mil revenue next year

PETALING: Interbase Resources Sdn Bhd, the parent company of Lelong.my, a Malaysian homegrown online marketplace, aspires to garner over RM360mil in revenue next year.

Chief operating officer/co-founder Wei Kwok Seing said to-date, Lelong.my had generated over RM30mil monthly and more than RM360mil annually.

“We aim to create a website which is more relevant, has vibrant environment and add Malaysian flavour in what we do, as that is our identity and aspirations,” he told reporters at the Karnival Meriah Malaysia Day on Friday.

The two-day carnival was held at Lelong.my’s corporate office in Puchong.

Lelong.my will unveil its new identity as part of its brand-lifting exercise over the next few months, as it would take on a new look, dynamic and youthful while retaining its Malaysian identity.

He said Lelong.my had an average sale of RM150 per user with 8,000 active sellers.

“As we are turning 20 years soon and on the verge of adulthood, we have gone through a lot on our growth journey, and we intend to make the best of it in our quest to become the most customer-centric and trusted e-commerce community in South-East Asia,” he said.

Lelong.my has introduced NetPos, a complete payment system that allows merchants to accept payment outside the e-commerce environment and it accepts payment using Visa, MasterCard, MyDebit and SamsungPay, as well as Visa PayWave and MasterCard PayPass.

Lelong.my provides 1.6 million products and services, across various categories.

Buyers and sellers can trade safely and securely by using NetPay, a payment system developed internally and is accredited by Bank Negara Malaysia. - Bernama
