CM: Hindus can apply for time off to attend Thaipusam prayers


MALACCA: Hindu personnel serving in the Malacca government can now fulfil their vows during Thaipusam after all executive councillors unanimously voted in favour of giving devotees time off.

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Idris Haron said hundreds of Hindu civil servants serving in all departments, agencies and all four local councils, could apply for time off between 8am to 5pm to attend prayers on Feb 9.
