No more cash payment on PLUS highways

It's electronic payment or bust.

ALL 94 toll plazas operated by Projek Lebuhraya Usaha Sama Bhd (PLUS) have gone fully electronic beginning today, with cash no longer accepted as payment.

This followed the implementation of electronic toll transaction initiative on the Juru-Skudai North-South Expressway stretch.

"Starting today, no more cash toll payments will be accepted. PLUS highway users are required to pay toll electronically using PlusMiles card, Touch 'n Go Card or SmartTag," said PLUS Malaysia managing director Datuk Azman Ismail.

The move affects all PLUS highways: North-South Expressway (NSE), North-South Expressway Central Link (ELITE), New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE), Federal Highway Route 2 (Batu Tiga and Sungai Rasau), Seremban-Port Dickson Highway, Butterworth-Kulim Expressway, Linkedua Highway, and the Penang Bridge.

"Sales of Touch N' Go cards and top up lanes will be opened for 24 hours at all toll plazas," Azman added.

He assured that all existing toll staff numbering more than 2,000 would not be affected, and that some would be redeployed to nearby toll plazas to assist with the new system.
