PRASARANA has opened two more counters at the Subang Jaya and Awan Besar LRT stations to facilitate the exchange of MyRapid concession cards to MyRapid Touch 'n Go cards.
Prasarana said it decided to open the two additional other counters from June 21 because of the high demand.
All MyRapid card will cease operation on July 15 as Prasana has opted for a seamless payment system via Touch 'n Go cards that enable commuters to use one card for LRT, MRT, monorail and KTM Komuter rail lines.
But while regular MyRapid cards can be exchanged at any station, the concession cards – which entitle holders to 50% discount – could only be exchanged at Pasar Seni.
Concession cardholders are required to furnish photo identification and detail to be embedded in the card, and this could previously only be done at the Pasar Seni bus hub. This resulted in long lines forming at the Pasar Seni counter as all concession cardholders had to converge there to have their cards exchanged.
The long waiting time frayed nerves and angered many, hence the two new counters. However, new applications for the cards can only be done at the Pasar Seni bus hub.
Operating hours for all three counters are from 7am to 7pm.
Queue number will be given out until 7pm and cardholders can opt to pick up their new card the next day.
