> Vape device explodes at NRD office

Members of the public who were busy running errands at the National Registration Department (NRD) in Putrajaya on Monday were startled when an e-cigarette device suddenly exploded and burst into flames. The 11.30am incident sparked panic as smoke engulfed the walkway near the escalator on level three of the building. A witness recalled that there was a loud bang followed by thick smoke billowing into the air. "The explosion released some really bad-smelling smoke which caused my baby to vomit," said the witness. It is believed that the man realised the device was burning and threw his bag onto the floor before it exploded. Putrajaya police chief Asst Comm Rosly Hassan said no complaint was lodged over the incident.
