Religious authority catches married woman having affair with non-Muslim lover

A husband called the Terengganu Religious Affairs Department (JHEAT) based on the suspicion that his wife was having an affair with a man, and the third party turned out to be a non-Muslim. The scandalous affair was exposed when JHEAT officers conducted a raid against a hotel located in Kuala Nerus after the husband lodged a report. During the 7.35am operation, the woman had claimed that she had fallen in love with the man after he helped to expand her business.  JHEAT commissioner Datuk Wan Mohd Wan Ibrahim said the husband had alerted the religious authorities after seeing his wife and lover entered the hotel.  "Although he was disappointed and upset, he did not take action by himself but called the religious authorities instead," he said. The scandalous duo were caught naked and were brought to JHEAT office for further investigation. Wan Mohd said they would be investigated under Section 29 of the Terengganu Syariah Criminal Offences (Takzir) Enactment 2001.
