Perkasa questions A-G’s OSA proposal

PETALING JAYA: Malay-right wing group Perkasa has questioned the Attorney-General Chambers' proposal to impose stricter penalties for leaking official secrets, saying that it would do more harm than good.

Although the group agreed that there should be no compromise on national security, Perkasa disagreed with the A-G’s suggestion to amend the Official Secrets Act (OSA) 1972 to include life imprisonment and 10 lashes of rotan for those leaking official secrets and to the media personnel who report them.
