KUALA LUMPUR: Islamist party PAS will not be involved in any efforts to unseat Terengganu Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman.
PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang (pic) said the party was also not involved in the motion of no-confidence against Ahmad Razif.
"We will not be involved and we will see if the issue is reasonable or not. It should not be about rebut jawatan (power tussle)," said Hadi when met by reporters in Parliament Wednesday.
On Tuesday, former Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Said tabled a motion of no-confidence against his successor Ahmad Razif.
However, state legislative assembly Speaker Datuk Mohd Zubir Embong rejected the Kijal assemblyman’s motion.
Ahmad tabled the motion while debating on the motion of thanks on the Sultan of Terengganu’s speech.
He claimed that Ahmad Razif had lost the respect and trust of many assemblymen and called for a vote to be conducted.
He said the assemblymen had no confidence in Ahmad Razif’s administration, bringing up issues such as the current mentri besar’s team trying to ridicule him and matters relating to housing.
