Jumbo death stirs up big flap

Disturbing discovery: A woman looking at the carcass of the elephant with its tusks missing at the bank of Pedu Lake in Kedah.

KUALA NERANG: Photographs of the carcass of an elephant minus its tusks lying on the bank of Pedu Lake near Hujung Kampung Pinang have gone viral.

Padiberas Nasional worker Rizalis Mohd Rizal posted on his Facebook page yesterday nine pictures of the carcass with the message: “Memang seekor gajah di temui dibunuh dengan kejam di Tasik Pedu Kedah. Hanya kerana kerakusan manusia untuk mendapatkan gadingnya..masyaallah.” (Indeed an elephant found to have been killed ruthlessly in Pedu Lake, Kedah, just because of human greed to get its tusks ... my God.)
