TNB applies for judicial review over YTL Power PPA

PETALING JAYA: Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) has applied for leave to commence judicial review proceedings against the Energy Commission (EC) and the Energy, Green Technology and Water Minister in relation to a new power purchase agreement (PPA) that it is negotiating with YTL Power Generation Sdn Bhd.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia on Monday, TNB said its move was in relation to a direction dated April 7 that was issued by the EC to TNB, which compelled TNB, among others, “to remove the incorporation of conditions precedent required by TNB” in the proposed new PPA with YTL Power.
