ALOR SETAR: Retired soldier Nasir Abas has begun his 500km run from here to Kuala Lumpur to celebrate the 59th Merdeka celebrations.
He began his run from the Zahir Mosque yesterday with the aim to instil the spirit of patriotism among youths, who he said seemed to forget the true meaning of independence.
