Facing closure: About 70 guesthouse owners staging a protest against local council regulations at Menu Cafe in Stewart Lane.

GEORGE TOWN: Guesthouse owners in the George Town heritage zone may have to close shop if the state government does not review rules under the Special Area Plan (SAP).

They claim they have difficulties in complying with local council regulations and were being drained financially by the SAP rules.
