MACC detains 10 in Sarawak immigration crackdown

The suspects, aged between 33 and 53, are believed to have received between RM200 and RM5,000 each to turn a blind eye to the presence of the illegal immigrants.

PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has detained 10 Immigration officers in Sarawak who are suspected of accepting bribes from illegal immigrants.

The officers are said to have protected illegal immigrants who did not have travel documents and work permits.
