ONE midnight last year, leaders of the Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCCIM) decided that they could not wait till the next day to alert Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai on the urgency to help resolve a policy matter that would have adverse impact on the business community.
An ACCCIM leader phoned Liow and to his group’s pleasant surprise, the MCA president – who was already asleep at that time – picked up his mobile phone and readily agreed to attend an emergency meeting with ACCCIM the following day without any complaint.
