Govt applies to strike out Anwar Ibrahim's sodomy appeal

KUALA LUMPUR: The Government is applying to strike out a lawsuit by Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim which calls for his immediate release on the grounds that his conviction was obtained by fraud.

Anwar's lawyer Latheefa Koya told reporters here that High Court deputy registrar Erry Shahriman Nor Aripin had instructed the Government to file its striking out application before the next case management on May 18.
