Liow saddened by increase in accident rate despite safety campaign

BENTONG: The number of accidents during the second week of Ops Selamat has increased despite the Government's efforts to promote safe driving, says Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai (pic).

The Transport Minister said that according to statistics released by Bukit Aman, the number of accidents increased by 10% to 17,147 for the first 11 days of Ops Selamat, compared with 15,527 accidents during the operation held over the same festive period last year.
