PETALING JAYA: Works Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof has responded to Penang local government committee chairman Chow Kon Yeow's claims, arguing that the fees of three road projects in the state are excessive and that costs were "double counted".

"YB Chow had disputed us and insisted that the detailed design fees of RM177.5mil for the three roads totalling 20km that the Penang government has already paid is not overpriced as it included 10 additional components. However, this is not true and can be considered as double counting," said Fadillah, who said that he had received input from the Board of Engineers in analysing Chow's claims.
