KOTA KINABALU: A 227kg WWII bomb was discovered by an excavation worker at a construction site near the Road Transport Department in Sandakan on Friday.

The area where the 1.3m-long bomb was later cordoned off, and Sandakan police chief Asst Comm Mohd Azhar Hamin said the bomb is currently being kept at the area where it was found under the supervision of the security forces.
