Jailed 8 years for IS support, factory worker breaks down in tears

KUALA LUMPUR: A factory technician started crying when he was sentenced to eight years' jail by the High Court here after he pleaded guilty to two counts of giving support and having various items related to the Islamic State (IS) militant group.

Justice Azman Abdullah sentenced Muhammad Safuan Mohd to eight years' jail for giving support to the IS by way of pledging his loyalty to it through a Telegram chat group known as "Gagak Hitam" (Black Crow), using the name Abu Marwan Salaki.
