GEORGE TOWN: Six men, believed to be armed with weapons, were nabbed by police at a budget hotel in Datuk Keramat Road here.

At least 15 uniformed and plain clothes policemen surrounded the area near the hotel on at 9.30am on Saturday (Oct 21).

A curious crowd of about 100 people were kept away after police sealed the area.

The suspect were handcuffed and brought down around 11.45am with one policeman carrying a parang.

They were later whisked off into a police van.

Details are still sketchy on the operation and a statement is expected to be released later today.
