Zahid welcomes challenge


PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi (pic) says the announcement by Tengku Raza-leigh Hamzah that he will contest the Umno presidency shows that the party is now “more democratic”.

The party vice-president, who is handling the duties of the president, said it was vital to strengthen Umno following Barisan Nasional’s defeat in the general election.
