Budget 2019 to place Malaysia on stronger footing, says Dr M

KUALA LUMPUR: The upcoming Budget 2019 that will be tabled next Friday (Nov 2) has been designed to place Malaysia on a stronger footing, says Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad (pic).

The Prime Minister said this will ensure the prosperity of the rakyat and the next generation.

He also gave an assurance to investors that any changes in policies will not be detrimental to their businesses.

"Malaysia's economy, despite the global challenges and uncertainties, is able to absorb and navigate through them.

"The Government's policies will always be business friendly and responsive to new ideas and suggestions," he said in his keynote address during the International Federation of Technical Analysis 31st Annual Conference here Saturday (Oct 27).

Dr Mahathir added that the country is now in the midst of restructuring to face any major shocks in the world economy as well as uncertainties in global financial markets.

He said the government remains confident that the new policies will create a stronger base, a balance between prudent spending and ensuring that private sector is given a boost.
