Dog bludgeoned to death following accident

GEORGE TOWN: A black mongrel was bludgeoned to death after purportedly getting run over by a motorcycle.

Two video clips on Twitter recorded the gory incident, and the person who posted it claimed it happened at a village road in Penang on Saturday (July 8) night.

The video showed two men, one wielding a wooden club and the other a long staff, bashing and stabbing the mongrel.

In the first two strikes with the club recorded on video, a sound akin to the weak and pained growling of a dog could be heard. The sound ceased in the subsequent strikes.

The person who posted the video claimed that the dog crossed the dark village road suddenly and a motorcycle crashed into it.

The dog might have sustained a broken leg and scuttled away to hide in a drain.

The person then said people removed the dog out and beat it to death.

"People are so cruel in these times," the Twitter user lamented.

At the end of one of the videos, a man could be heard saying aloud: "Jangan rakam oi! (Don't record oi!).”

The videos have since been viewed almost 800,000 times, with thousands of commenters decrying the cruelty.
