Cops seeking suspect who broke glass panel at PAS HQ, says IGP

KUALA LUMPUR: A police report has ben lodged over an incident where a man hurled stones at the PAS Headquarters in Jalan Raja Laut here, breaking a glass wall, says Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain.

He said the incident occurred at 5.30am on Saturday (July 29)and police are tracking down the suspect with the help of Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL).

"The suspect, who was riding a motorcycle, made a noise before hurling the stones at the glass wall of the building. Guards on duty in the building witnessed the incident.

"Police are tracking the suspect," he told a special media conference on Ops Cantas in conjunction with the state elections in Bukit Aman here on Saturday.

Police, he said, are reviewing close-circuit television (CCTV) footage from the area to assist their investigations, adding that the case is being investigated under Section 427 of the Penal Code for committing mischief.

Earlier this morning, PAS lodged a police report on the incident, a few hours before the nomination process for the six state elections began. – Bernama
