Man, 43, drowns at Penang's Miami Beach


GEORGE TOWN: A 43-year-old man has drowned at Miami Beach in Batu Ferringhi here.

In a statement, the Fire and Rescue Department said some individuals attempted to rescue the victim, Haryardi Salleh, before authorities were alerted to the incident at 4.28pm on Thursday (Aug 31).

The victim was recovered from the water but remained unconscious.

"Rescuers who arrived at the scene attempted to treat him but he later passed away at the scene," read the statement.
