Body of foreigner found in Shah Alam lake


SHAH ALAM: The body of a man, believed to be a foreigner, has been found in a lake at Kota Kemuning here.

Shah Alam OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim said according to a witness, the victim jumped into the lake at about 12.25am on Sunday (March 17).

"A search and rescue operation involving 11 rescuers was launched.

"The body was recovered at 8.20am, about 5m from where he jumped," he said in a statement.

He said the man had no identification documents and is believed to be a foreigner.

"We believe he was under the influence of alcohol as there were several empty bottles found near the scene.

"The body was sent to Hospital Shah Alam to discover the cause of death," he said, adding that the case has been classified as sudden death.

"We urge those with information to contact investigating officer Insp Mohd Shahrul Bakhri at 012-363 0512," he said.
