The Galaxy S8 is among the Samsung smartphones that come with a Bixby button on the side of the case.

The Bixby digital assistant, introduced to Samsung Galaxy smartphones earlier this year, works through a dedicated button on the handset. But some owners have found the button annoying and would prefer to disable it.

Now, thanks to a new update, they can – sort of. Owners of Samsung's top-of-the-range Galaxy S8, S8 Plus and Note 8 smartphones now have more options for the new Bixby button on the side of the case.
