SEMPORNA: In the heat of Thursday night’s gunbattle with notorious cross border kidnap group members, an elite police Tiger Platoon policeman did not even notice that he was hit.

“I did not realise that I was shot. It was only after the firing ended, I felt a sharp pain in my leg,” said the 30-year-old lance corporal Mohd Syafik Lagu Abdullah.
